The following quotes are taken from TrustPower's Consent application to the Clutha District Council.

"A land use consent (s9) to construct, commission and operate the Mahinerangi Wind Farm, in accordance with Rule ENG.2 (discretionary activity).

To emit noise from the Mahinerangi Wind Farm, which will comply with the requirements of NZS 6808:1998 “Acoustics – The Assessment and Measurement of Sound from Wind Turbine Generators”, and
NZS 6803:1999 “Acoustics – Construction Noise”, in accordance with Rules NSE.1 and NSE.2 (standards) and RRA.10(iv) (restricted discretionary activity).

To generate heavy traffic movements during the construction of the Mahinerangi Wind Farm, in accordance with Rule RRA.6(ii) (restricted discretionary activity)

To clear vegetation and undertake earthworks throughout the area of the Mahinerangi Wind Farm site, within the Clutha District, during the construction of access tracks when they are within 10 m of natural watercourses, in accordance with Rule RRA.8 (restricted discretionary activity)."
